A comediante Carol Leifer, cuja sagacidade ganhou elogios como escritora tanto para Seinfeld quanto para o The Larry Sanders Show, traz sua visão ligeiramente distorcida da realidade para Alright Already. Em seu primeiro papel principal na televisão, Leifer interpreta uma mulher de negócios solteira e experiente que acaba de abrir uma loja de optometria em Miami com a melhor amiga Renee. Aqui, Carol tenta permanecer são enquanto lida com sua mãe e pai próximos, irmão louco por meninas e irmã mais nova que parece estar desenvolvendo um estranho gosto por Vic Damone. Combine tudo isso com os muitos romances de Renee (que nunca conheceu um homem que ela não gostava muito), e você tem uma comédia de cultura pop que encontra grandes risadas em pequenos momentos.
